Hi all-
Impersonal group email due to brain malfunction. Sorry.
Chicago is beat, done, and just totally old news. The
buildings are too damn short; the streets, too wide. There
are no vegetarian restaurants in the hipster
neighborhood, only Asian-Fusion noodle shops. The
wind has actually blown me into alleys, knocking not only
my person to the ground but also my coffee. The trains
suck and don't go everywhere, the buses don't run on
time, and every car I've ever owned has ended up a
smoking, charred, useless heap on the side of the road, so the
logical thing for me to do is move back to the city which
has destroyed me mentally and physically already, not just
once, but twice.
So, again, Brooklyn is going to be home base, for the
time being at least. This time I am trying to postpone
another breakdown by spending most of my time working
outside the city, in various locations around our beautiful
country, and only using NYC as a retreat, to lick my
wounds, eat some tasty mock chicken, and then fling
myself back at the world, and fight the bosses, or
something. We will see how this works. My hopes are not
high.
My email is always alexh@wayne.edu, at least until
Wayne State University figures out that I haven't worked
there since 1998.
My phone number is now (917)***-****. I am in the 21st
century now, with a cell phone of my own and everything.
Please discard any phone numbers that begin with a
(312), because those phones belong now to former
co-workers who are already very confused at calls they
get from screaming drunk people looking for me. Or, I
guess, call them when you get drunk. Whatever.
Going for the trifecta
and
Yours for the revolution,
Alex.
